I’ve lived in Columbus for four years and although I love it now, it took some time for me to realize just what a great city this is. There’s a lot more to do here than you big city folk might think. We’ve got great restaurants, a fabulous library system (which is cool, you guys– stop laughing), and streets that run thick with Jeni’s ice-cream.
We also have a killer zoo, by which I mean it’s awesome– and not that the animals will hunt you in a Jumanji-style reign of terror. The Columbus Zoo ranks among the top 10 zoos in the U.S. and provides everything on my list of summer outing necessities, primarily: adventure, mist machines, and funnel cake. Heaven. Plus it’s pretty darn wheelchair accessible, which will be great in a few more years.
We decided to get a yearly pass so that Sim and I can go when we like without feeling guilty if we only stay for an hour. We’ve had the pass for a week and we’ve already visited twice. I LOVE it.
So here’s to nature and the environment and stuff. Come to Columbus and visit our zoo.
An now a gazillion pictures (in case you thought I was lying and didn’t really go to the zoo at all).
