David Dunn, an Orthodox friend and fellow blogger asked for posts from those interested in writing about their experience as Orthodox Christians. We were given a starting point of “I became Orthodox because…” which was a rather difficult beginning since the only real answer for me is “because my parents said I had to.” I tried beginning with “I stayed Orthodox because…” but the thing is, I didn’t stay– at least not at first.
So I decided to write about why I leftthe church and why I came back.
Thank you to David for giving me the incentive to look back and consider my journey towards salvation thus far– and also for helping me cut my obnoxiously long essay down to the requested 500 words. Apparently, blabber mouths like myself don’t look at word count. Thankfully, friends do.
