Perfect. How about a Giveaway?
Two years ago, I discovered that my dear friend Meg had been hiding something from me for years– and that something was her super secret-talented mother. After Simeon hit the scene, Meg and her husband would come over for dinner as usual but, instead of the typical side dish and dessert, Meg started bringing goodies of a softer sort. Halfway through dinner she’d reach into her bag, pull out some divinely precious handmade item, and casually toss it to me saying, “Oh, by the way, my mom made this for the baby…” like it was no big deal. A cute little picnic quilt, a hand-sewn personalized cloth book, a brightly colored bib– all of it was stinkin’ cute and all of it was used around our house on the daily.
Turns out, Meg’s mom (aka: Daryl Ann Burke / aka: Queen of the sewing machine) was a little treasure trove of baby treats.
Then, when Simeon was 18 months, she made him the cutest crotchet shark hat (Sim is wearing it in some of THESE photos!) and it was so heavenly I couldn’t deal and I was like, “YOUR MOTHER IS A YARN GODDESS AND SHE NEEDS TO START SELLING THESE!” Apparently, Meg’s mom was already on it and The GladHatter shop is open for business.
Now for the fun part…
